Lions, Tigers and Goats

Yesterday we visited the Safari Park - It had been awhile since we last went and it was fun to see the changes. We went on the tram, explored different trails, fought a certain someone about riding in the stroller (and if she was going to walk, who was going to push it... Apparently Cole was NOT her first choice) and took care of some friends once everyone was happy again. You'd think they'd be thrilled to see gorillas or giraffes, but the not-so-exotic animal always wins!

La Jolla Indian Reservation

We weren't sure how camping with The Wildcard (aka Hayden) would go, but decided to give it a shot and drove to Palomar Mountain Saturday morning. We found a great spot near the water and spent the day setting up, relaxing, floating and tubing down the creek. Chef Brett made a fantastic dinner and afterwards we enjoyed a campfire and smores. Cole was out the minute we hit the sleeping bags, while Hayden thought it was time to crawl to each person and give hugs. Adorable, but clearly not going to work. We brought her car seat into the tent and she was out within seconds.

For planning this trip in three hours, don't think it could've gone any better. Could've done without the dirt (car, clothes, hands, mouths... you name it, it covered it) but it appears both kids love camping and future plans will be made (ahead of time!).

Ice Cream for Lunch

It's been really hot in San Diego the last two weeks. I'm sure it's hotter in other cities, but some of us are without air conditioning and have to spend hours walking around Target for relief (did it yesterday).

Today we escaped our blazing apartment and brought lunch to Mission Bay.

He's still talking about it, so I know he thought it was fantastic. If we do it again though I'll be sure we don't have witnesses - Nothing like scarfing down cones, milkshakes and fries as a Stroller Strides group is wrapping up... Don't mind us! Hope you enjoyed your workout and your kids enjoy their organic/nutritious lunches when you get home!

Living Coast Discovery Center

After two days of sand and sun, we decided to switch it up today. Smaller than expected, but the kids loved it!

Not Invited Back

After our beach day with Aunt Sarah and Emerson, we stopped by Aunt Traci and Uncle Brett's condo. They were out of town for the long weekend and asked us to torture check in on their cat, Cheeto. Thank goodness he's sweet, patient and playful - My children clearly don't understand personal space!
