We picked Tom up from the marathon and made our way downtown - A lot of streets were still blocked off, so we weren't able to park close to the playground. Cole clearly didn't mind, since we got to walk along the train tracks!
Tri-tip sandwiches at Firestone Grill, ice cream at Doc Burstein's Lab and a final stop at the dunes made our trip complete.
After such a fun time, we can't wait to pick our next destination!

So Much to See
Oso Flaco Lake

Road Trip!
Rick Engineering sponsors the San Luis Obispo marathon, and bunch of San Diego folks were going up to help and/or run - We were undecided about whether or not we'd go until last week. Tom's been working a lot of hours, and the kids did great on our trip to Phoenix, but it took a great hotel/rate in Pismo Beach to seal the deal.
We hit the road on Friday at 10am and made great time through Los Angeles. We stopped for lunch in Thousand Oaks and all was great until Cole said he didn't feel well. I grabbed a plastic bag and turned just in time.
We made it to the SLO Rick office at 4:15pm and Tom went in for keys for a company car - He was getting up at 4:30am on Sunday to help at Mile 2 and I clearly wasn't dragging two sleeping children to OUR car. He came out with keys and a beer (I know, only him!). I told him to enjoy, I would take the kids to the hotel and check-in. Ten minutes into our fifteen minute drive, Cole screamed. I grabbed a bag and threw it back at him. He couldn't get it open and puked EVERYWHERE. To make matters worse, it was raining, foggy and we were on a curve in the middle of nowhere. I stripped him, strapped him in the driver seat, called Tom and did my best. I drove to town and met Tom in front of a liquor store. He ran in... No bags. Apparently they are a plastic free zone and didn't have anything - Not even ONE for gross baby wipes and soiled clothes. Awesome. Got to the hotel... Laundry room, but no detergent. Told to check the gas station next door... Nope. We kept walking (in the rain) and finally found a Rite-Aid.
I didn't imagine I'd spend my first evening of vacation doing laundry, but wine and their heated children's pool salvaged our evening!

Wyatt & Kendall
We used to see our buddies once a week, but they recently moved to Vista. It's been tough on Cole, but we are going to make an effort to see them often. We met in Encinitas today and are excited for all the new playgrounds we'll get to try for future play dates!

We Will Win
Making 'em do some post-dinner laps around the neighborhood.

Easter Hike
The canyons near our house are so much fun!
We explored for over an hour, then it was clear it was nap time.
Tom and I started watching a movie and eating appetizers when Hayden came out of their room (surprise, surprise). She told me she had a rock so I grabbed it, thankful she thought to give it to me and not swallow it, etc. Yep, definitely poop. Nothing like having a conversation about poop being icky "rocks" and how we don't take them out of our diaper/touch them. Happy Easter to me!

Easter Bunny
We met the Wright's at Presidio this morning for our final hunt.
Cole bounced, got his face painted, and played tug-of-war and red light-green light. Hayden just made sure the bunny was always at least 25 feet away.
