Twenty Years Later...

I tried to meet up with a childhood friend, but she wasn't able to make the drive to Phoenix - She told us her mom had moved to Tempe a few years ago and we were thrilled she was free for dinner. Can't believe it had been 20 years since my mom and Sandy hung out - So happy we reconnected and she got to meet Tom, Cole and Hayden!

Pizza dough for the kids to play with... Genius!

Estrella Mountain

Wouldn't say we hiked... We pretty much went on a rock collecting excursion.

Phoenix, Here We Come!

This morning I woke the kids up at 4:30am, put them in a rental minivan, and hit the road. At 4:46am, Hayden started saying, "All done!" and said it approximately 9 million times before she fell asleep - She woke up near Tacona, so I stopped for gas and gave her a bottle. Wasn't long after she finished I heard the lovely sound of her puking. On the 8... In the middle of nowhere... No exit for miles. I pulled over and did what I could with baby wipes. It was another "Seriously, Hayden?" moment but I can't really complain - I thought she'd scream the entire trip so five minutes of gagging was fine by me.

Picked up Grandma and Grandpa at the airport and made our way to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale!

Band-Aid Moustache

I had an appointment at 9am this morning. It was pouring rain, so I waited until 8:55am to head out. My phone rang at 8:59am, just as I pulled into a parking spot. When I looked down at my phone and saw it was Tom, I thought it was the sweetest thing in the world that he was making sure I made it okay (we don't get much rain here and when we do, roads are a MESS).

Me: Hello?
Tom: Hey! You get there okay?
Me: Yep, just pulled in, thanks.
Tom: So... We're all okay...
Me: What is wrong?!?
Tom: Well, your son is gushing blood and may have a cleft lip.
Me: What?! Do I need to come home?!
Tom: I found him on the floor next to the train table. He's bleeding a lot but don't think you need to come home. Do you think he needs stitches?
Me: How would I know?
Tom: I'll send you a picture.

He sent me a text and Cole wasn't "gushing blood" and didn't appear to have a "cleft lip" as my husband so delicately put it, so I told him to do what he could and I'd be home soon.

Two minutes later I got this text:

All good.

After my appointment I hurried home, found out the real story (the three of them had been running around) and fixed my beloved child so he wouldn't be mocked endlessly at a birthday party starting in 5 minutes.

When Mommy handles things:

Happy we didn't have to miss out on Avery's celebration!

I was gone four minutes. FOUR.

Call Me Maybe

The hit of Summer 2012, but still on repeat in this house!

Carly's Lyrics:
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe!

And all the other boys,
Try to chase me,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe!

Hayden's Lyrics:
