Fun with Dad

Tom let me sleep in today and did his best to capture some of Cole's early morning smiles. No worries, it's not too long... Mt. Vesuvius had a mini-eruption near the end!

Testing... Testing, One, Two, Three

Cole is getting too big for his sling - Since he falls asleep almost immediately when I put him in it (and can stay asleep for hours on end), I really hoped it would be my method of keeping him quiet on the plane ride back to Chicago in a few weeks. If he doesn't gain too much weight, it may work... but we all know that's highly unlikely!

Figured I'd start getting him used to his other carrier now :)

Lady, what the heck are you doing to me?

A Couple of Firsts...

On Valentine's Day we took Cole out for the first time in his stroller - Success! We had the back part open and he kept looking to make sure we were there... Otherwise, he slept while we finally got to enjoy the beautiful weather!

I tried the Bumbo for the first time yesterday. I didn't think he'd be ready, but figured I'd give it shot - There's only so much you can do to entertain yourself during the day!!

We had to show Daddy when he got home...

(Please excuse his hair... I didn't comb it after his bath and he totally looked like Pauly D from Jersey Shore! GTL, baby!)

My Boys

Exhausted from a long week...

Grandma, Grandpa & Uncle Justin

Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Justin came to visit for a week! We stayed with them at the Welk Resort (Escondido) a couple nights- It was our first trip away from home and the car was clearly packed like we planned to be gone for weeks! Overall, Cole did very well and we had a great time exploring with everyone. We can't wait for our trip to Florida in November!

Waiting for them to arrive

Uncle Justin holding Cole for the first time

All bundled up - It was cold in the morning!

Baby Whisperer

I had never held a newborn before, so I purchased a few books to assist me with Cole's arrival. The Baby Whisperer was recommended by another first-time mom and I immediately wanted it the moment I heard her 7-week old was already sleeping through the night. It was a quick read and it basically goes over the EASY method.

Eat, Activity, Sleep, You time

Sounds easy enough, right? Sure! But why is it then that I don't 'sleep when he sleeps?' You people are hilarious.

7:00am-7:40am
Eat (We try and extend it so Mt. Vesuvius doesn't hurt himself chugging)

7:41am-8:20am
Activity - Playtime, grunting/groaning/flailing arms for a good part of that... always followed by a diaper/costume change :)

8:21am-9:20am
Sleep - Cole and I are both supposed to nap at this point. Right, but the almighty Baby Whisperer does not take into consideration that his pacifier keeps popping out and he's still spitting up. I'm supposed to be sleeping?

9:21am-10:00am
You Time - He's finally down. A good 40 minutes to prep breakfast, eat, brush teeth, pump, do dishes, make his next bottle, communicate with the outside world, shower...

"WAAAAAAAAAA!" Right... It's 9:30am and he's already hungry. Nine minutes in and I barely have breakfast made. Guess I won't be showering and will continue to rock the spit-up-stained pajama pants! So much for that 3 hours between feedings, oh Wise One.

Rinse. Repeat.

The Baby Whisperer (aka LIAR) is sitting pretty in her mansion in England while all us stupid American moms wonder if she's on crack and have bags under our eyes.

True or False - I'll be clean and wearing jeans by Week 7.
I hope so.
