Gymnastics: Summer Olympics 2028

After 4 classes at the YMCA, he's clearly on his way.

Wasn't so sure after the first one!  He was excited, but really nervous.  Parents are allowed to participate, so I stuck by his side through everything. The class was very boring (a lot of stretching time/lame activities) and several of the kids were out of control - One mother kept yelling, "Make good choices, Lily!" the entire time.  Ummmm, it's not working, lady - Your daughter isn't sitting on her red circle and is hanging from the high bar. Try a new phrase!  Yeah, was feeling PRETTY good about my adorable offspring until Hayden decided to wake up crying and present her first ever blow-out diaper.  It was awesome stripping and changing her right there on the mats and have everyone look at me like I was crazy.  Truly awesome.  I had to hold her through the rest of the class (10 minutes) and was relieved when it was over.

Fortunately, each week got better and better - We practiced stretching at home, he got used to the other kids/teacher, and the trampoline, foam 'marshmallow' pit, and balance beam became part of the routine. He had a blast.  We're going to wait awhile until we do it again though - Hayden never napped like she was supposed to and it was too much for me trying to be there for him and wrangle her.  Thinking this Fall may work when I can either enroll her in something or find a drop-in daycare.  Hopefully Bela understands!
