Trunk or Treat

All month long Cole has been asking, "It Halloween yet?" It was so fun being able to finally tell him we could decorate pumpkins and do some trick-or-treating. Getting to the festival was a bit of a disaster - Hayden refused to wear her costume and Cole fell asleep on the way there. Fortunately he rallied and a lollipop and a DJ distracted Hayden enough to snap it in place. After we danced and got some pictures, we were on our way!

Tantrum #1 of 3:

She doesn't cry... She gently lowers herself to the ground and just lays there. Adorable, hilarious and a tad embarassing! She kept going up to people with candy and just opening her mouth. When we'd take it out of their hand and drop it in her bucket, she'd flip - Tomorrow should be interesting!

Mr. Mom

Spending a weekend with friends wouldn't have been possible without my amazing husband. He didn't hesitate when I mentioned the trip, pushed me out the door when I started crying/second-guessing before the airport, and didn't complain about taking time away from work.

I had a wonderful time but coming home to the hugs and hearing all about their adventures was amazing. They had an extra day with Grandpa and Justin, a fun trip to the zoo, laughs at the playground, and a lot of visits to the "french fry store."

Pics from their time:

Apparently they slept great while I was gone (of course!), but it didn't last long. Hayden missed me so much she was up from 2:30am to 4am my first night back. So much for feeling rested! I should probably plan another trip soon...

A Break for Mom

When Traci mentioned a trip to Boulder to visit her sister, I'm pretty sure I booked flights before dates were confirmed. Three whole nights where I won't have to wake up 6 times to hunt for a pacifier/take Cole to the bathroom?! Hot meals at an actual restaurant?! The opportunity to stroll through a store without the fear of being kicked out?! I'm in!

Makayla is a freshman at the University of Colorado and plays volleyball. I can't imagine being a college athlete. With practice, weight training, watching tapes, traveling to away games, and meetings with trainers/advisors/coaches, I'm not really sure when she finds time to study or sleep. She's amazing and it was so fun visiting her campus, watching some games and meeting her friends.

Dressed up for Halloween!

I'm so grateful the girls didn't mind me tagging along. Fall colors... A lot of exploring... Shopping on Pearl Street... Great food and drinks... A bit of sleep... The trip was perfect and just what I needed!

New Wheels

Grandpa bought Cole a bike and he couldn't wait to try it out - His smile says it all!

Already?

It's always hard to say good-bye, but luckily we have more time with Grandpa and Justin!

Joy & Love

On Saturday we held a blessing on a Coronado beach for Hayden. Pastor Deborah was very sweet and helped us plan a lovely ceremony. It was very windy but we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day.

The city skyline unfortunately wasn't the only backdrop...

Grandma Judy was in all our hearts.

Aunt Sarah's words during the rose ceremony: We wish you sunshine, laughter, joy and love. We wish you the inner strength to follow your dreams. May you surround yourself with those who offer unending support and encouragement. Always remember, you can do anything.

Couldn't have said it better myself - We love you, Hayden.
