Seems like yesterday...
Dear Bubby,
Another year has gone by in a blur - I feel like so much has changed, but then, I feel like nothing has changed at all.
Your likes and dislikes have evolved a bit, but you're still the same caring, athletic, goofy boy with a zest for life and adventure. Everyone can see you have a heart of gold, some within a matter of minutes. Parents are always surprised at how sweet and gentle you are at playgrounds. Little ones gravitate to you and you're always willing to play and share - My heart bursts with pride in these moments.
You still love cars and trucks, but now want to know about the make, model and speed of everything you see. It's amazing the things you know and ask, but it makes me sad that you are no longer running to the window to catch an ambulance going by the house.
You and Hayden clearly have your moments, but the love you two have is undeniable. You are each other's best friend and biggest fan. I don't worry about our littlest one feeling left out - You are so excited for his/her arrival and I know you are going to be a great helper and playmate. My only concern is kindergarten - It starts in the fall and I'm worried you'll be envious they get to stay home with me and won't want to go. First few days will be rough (for me included), but I know you're going to love it.
After that first week of school, you can stop growing, thanks. Four was fun (WAY better than three) and although I'm excited for five, I'm not a fan of how quickly time is passing. You told me when you're big you'll still snuggle with me and do all the dishes and cleaning (except laundry) - Sounds amazing, but I think I'd rather keep you exactly how you are.
Love,
Mama

It was so nice having Grandpa with us. (We hoped Grandma could come, but work obligations kept her home - Thank goodness for Skype!). Nothing better than having a lazy day filled with eating, playing with new toys and eating some more. Everyone went to bed with smiles.
