Good Thing They're Cute
Hayden: Did you hear my bum?
Me: No...
Hayden: It was saying hi to my jeans!
Hayden (waving a wand): Bow when you speak to me!!
Cole had a rough morning - Woke up early and was a mess.
Hayden: Goodness gracious, he's driving you crazy!
Hayden: Thank you, Bubby! You're a nice man.
Hayden: Why you only have handsome shirts and not beautiful shirts?
Me: I thought I did...
Cole: You're not my best friend anymore.
Hayden: YES. I. AM!!!!!!!!
Cole and Hayden often have competitions on who looks prettier or more handsome. It went on for awhile...
Tom: Okay, enough. Mommy is the prettiest!
Hayden: No she isn't!!
Tommy and Jen were over and Jen said she was going to change Owen's diaper. Few minutes later...
Cole (whispering): Owen really didn't need a new diaper. She thought it was him, but it was me!
Baby
Cole: How will we know if baby is a girl or boy?
Me: We will be able to tell by its private parts...
Cole: The baby will come out naked?! She doesn't have clothes on?!
I was laying on the couch (in shorts) when Cole came over and kind of lifted/flopped my thighs...
Cole: Wow, your legs are getting too big!
Hayden: Why doesn't your pants fit anymore?
Cole: I know some good names for our baby - Davin, Ivan and Raymond.
Hayden: Yeah, and Gooey Geyser!
Me: Ummm, great. We'll be sure to put those on the list.
Pismo Beach Trip
Five minutes after we told her to take a nap and trip would go faster...
Hayden: Can you say Hayden wake up we are here?
Cole: This isn't our house. We are going to run out of toilet paper.
Me: No...

School Update
We applied to five charter schools and two public schools, and only got into one! It wasn't my top choice (for silly reasons), but it's an excellent charter school close to our home and we're very lucky we got in. I'm sad my 24-7 buddy of five years will be leaving me each day, but I know he's going to do very well and love every moment. (Please remind me of that when I'm sobbing after every drop-off... How did we get here already?!).

Last Day in Pismo
We each got a kid. They both ended up like this. Vacations no longer equal sleep!
When Tom got back after the marathon, we drove to Oceano Dunes. We hiked a bit and then I sat while they ran. And ran. And ran some more.

Tom and I just split a milkshake because we decided it was imperative we went back to Pismo Beach for clam chowder. Priorities, people.
Cole fell asleep 10 minutes after we hit the road. He was clearly exhausted, but think he also realized car trips are a lot easier on his tummy if he just sleeps through it!
Monkey being Monkey, took A LOT more bribing and finally fell asleep near L.A.
Big fans of 'cation!'

Day Two
We woke up to rain and weren't quite sure what to do - Thank goodness for the Children's Museum. It was super cute and the kids had a great time.

MUCH needed post-lunch nap.
We went back to the hotel and got ready for the Rick Spaghetti Dinner. Last year we were the only ones that brought kids... This year there were over 15! It was so nice meeting all the SLO Rick families and spending time with the other SD folks that came up to race/volunteer.
Afterwards we went to Avila Beach to catch the sunset and eat some ice cream!

Mini Babymoon
We had so much fun exploring the San Luis Obispo area the last two years, we decided to drive up for the marathon again this year (Tom's company is main sponsor and he volunteered last year). I may be 36 weeks pregnant, but Water Station - Mile 2 without Tom?! Couldn't let it happen.
299 miles.
One refused to nap...
And the other slept for several hours.
No need for plastic bags this trip! Third time must be a charm.
Cole enjoyed our hotel so much last year, we made sure to book the same one.

Shivering, watching Daddy in the hot tub...
Pismo Beach Pier: Best place for clam chowder and to burn off some more five-hours-in-the-car energy!
