After Glow

June 23, 1944 - April 10, 2013
"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done."
Saying we're a bit shocked at my beautiful mother-in-law's passing, is an understatement. She battled uterine cancer for 9 months, and we were elated when she heard the wonderful words 'Cancer FREE' in January and at her 3 month check up last week. We will never know what happened that morning and it doesn't matter. The pain is overwhelming enough just knowing her second chance ended way too soon.

Some girls have mother-in-laws that make them feel like they're not good enough for their son. Judy never judged, questioned decisions we made or criticized - She was always about love, kind words, gentle advice and tips. I know I am very lucky.
Cole and Hayden will know all about her zest for life, boisterous laugh and love of telling stories. But more importantly we're going to pass on her beliefs in life - Give back, be kind to all, and love friends and family more than words can express.

Hayden - Nine Months
Hayden is constantly moving and has no fear - She may be bungee jumping by 9. All about the drama and nosy... We have our hands full.
Two weeks ago we were at Avery's house and Hayden was playing on the floor near me - Looked away for two seconds, and she was gone. Found her on the fifth stair - No idea she knew how to climb steps!
Two days ago she started walking behind Cole's toys. She will be running in no time.
Weight: 15lbs 15.5oz (9%)
Length: 27.5in (44%)
Head: 47.3cm (100%)
Teeth: 4
Likes: Puffs, graham crackers, gouging Cole's eyes out, Itsy Bitsy Spider (solves EVERYTHING), pacifiers, Cole's cars and trucks, splashing in the bath, playing in the sand, pitching a fit if things don't go her way
Dislikes: Napping, sleeping through the night, laying still for diaper changes
This month's photo shoot took two takes (helpers were necessary).

Happy Easter!
Easter started bright and early in this house! Later in the day, we went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Sarah's for a BBQ. So special having Hayden and Emerson celebrating another first holiday together!
