I love my children dearly, but all I wanted today was a break. Hayden STILL isn't sleeping well at night and follows me every waking moment. Cole is well-behaved, but never stops talking. I dream about booking a hotel room so I can sleep more than two hour stretches and eat, watch TV, and shower in peace.
To say my patience and energy are lacking is an understatement.
I got to sleep in and woke up to Hayden screaming, "Happy Birthday," adorable cards, tulips, mimosas and chocolate donuts. We played at the playground for a bit and ate lunch at Rubio's. Tom took care of every diaper and once they were down for a nap, I was pushed out the door to get my nails and toes done. After the crew woke up, we went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Sarah's for a BBQ.
It was simple, perfect and just what I needed.
