Encinitas Egg Hunt

After last weekend, we couldn't wait to take Cole up to Encinitas for their egg hunt. The 0-2 age group was up first, so we lined up with the other parents and kids.

The minute it started everyone started grabbing. Holy vacuum... We kept chugging forward and the grass was clear everywhere we looked.

Hundreds and hundreds of eggs and our kid got one. ONE. He buried his face in my shoulder and wouldn't look up - When he finally did, the look on his face broke our hearts. I fortunately thought to bring some M&M's in my purse and snuck them in the egg. As he munched and our happy kid slowly returned, I threw my infamous skunk eye towards all the parents opening 30-40 eggs for their infants. Apparently cheap candy and the opportunity for a free Happy Meal ticket made some adults lose sight of why they were there.

Afterwards we walked around their downtown area, ate lunch and stopped at a playground. Cole couldn't wait to fly the airplane he won at the festival!
