Puffs = Love

Melinda and Justin asked if I could watch Colin for a couple hours yesterday - Two weeks before I had them both and Cole was a MESS.  He woke up from a nap and was traumatized that another baby was in his home.  Sobbing... Hyperventilating... Not wanting him in my lap... It lasted a whole hour before Colin's bedtime ended his drama queen ways.  A second chance to run through an afternoon with two AND be able to hand one off at the end of the day??  Sold! 

Round Two:  I had a doctor's appointment so Tom was home with a napping Cole.  Melinda dropped Colin off and Cole woke up to find Colin in his best friend's lap.  Luckily, Tom was only alone for five minutes!  He took a devastated Cole outside and hoped a break would calm him down.  Nope, took the magic of fruit snacks and Wow, Wow, Wubbzy to dry the tears.

Tom had to get back to work, so all I could do was hope in the next three hours our child would finally look me in the eyes!

Once Cole finished his fruit snacks, I pulled out Colin's puffs. They instantly bonded over their love of airy snacks and the afternoon went off without a hitch. Who knew?! I put one of Cole's toolboxes in front of Colin and Cole took his other two off the shelf (yes, SPOILED) and put them in front of him... He showed him some Elmo books... And ran in circles seeing it made him laugh.  Phew!  All he needed was a little time - And here I feared we had to rethink this whole second kid thing...
